Look at those eyes!

January 29th, 2010

This morning, after coming home from bringing Yoram to school, we kind of got a lot of snow on us. (Yes, it’s snowing again…) I was about to go inside when I thought it would be nice to take a picture of Yair in his stroller with snow all over him. And look at that 2nd picture - doesn’t he have beautiful eyes?! (Can you tell his proud mommy is talking?) :-)

Yoram turns 4!

January 18th, 2010

Yesterday we celebrated Yoram’s 4th birthday. A milestone, since now he’s old enough to go to school. The past two weeks he has been ‘practicing’ half days at school and he seemed to like it. Tomorrow is his first full day at school and we hope he’ll do well.

Saying goodbye…

January 18th, 2010

Since Yoram turns 4 this month, last Friday was the last day at his daycare-center. This week he starts school and he’s very excited about that. But before that, he had to say goodbye to his friends at ‘Bengelhuus’.
Funny; when Yoram realised that he’d never go to daycare together with Yair anymore he was very sad, saying that ‘now he’ll NEVER see Yair anymore’…

Let it snow…

January 18th, 2010

Since December 17th 2009 we’ve been having a lot of snow. We had a very white Christmas, something that hasn’t happen since Christmas 1981! Needless to say, it was very special.
Here are some pictures of Yoram (and JM) playing in the snow.

A “new” car

October 24th, 2009

Last week JM’s car broke down after 1.5 years of “service” and over 40.000km without maintenance. The old car dit a real good job (cheap!!). We now bought a Fiat Palio Weekend 1.6 16V (nov 1998). The car has only driven 140.000km in his live… So we hope to drive this car for a few years (and again as cheap possible :-))

Yair is 1 year old!

September 28th, 2009

On the 25th Yair celebrated his 1st birthday. Here are some pictures of his birthday at daycare.
He’s wondering why everybody’s singing for him and he has to wear a birthday-hat. By the looks of it, he doesn’t like the hat…

Opening presents at home.

On the 26th we had family over. Yoram helped his little brother blowing out one candle on the cake and opening presents.

Yair loved his birthday-cake. We thought it was hilarious how big his mouth opened up for another bite.

Playing outside (1st time on Yoram’s car). And after all the ‘partying’ it was time to relax on Sunday.

Yair’s b-day invitation

September 25th, 2009

Yair turns 1 September 25th and we’re throwing him a birthday-party on the 26th.
Here’s the invitation;

Summer vacation 2009

August 12th, 2009

This year we went to Denmark for our summer vacation. Yes, again! We still can’t get enough of Denmark. This time we went to West-Jutland to a place called Jegum Ferieland near Oksby and Esbjerg. We rented a summer house for 4-6 people for a week. Because we had room left in the house & car we took along Davida (a girl from our church youthgroup). We left Holland on the 1st of August and arrived that early evening in Denmark.

Day 1 Sunday
We had a lazy day because of the long drive and many traffic jams. (Thank you Germany!) We watched some DVD’s (’Friends’ has to be the best comedy ever!), played some games and Yoram played outside in the rain with his super watersoaker.

Day 2 Monday
Today there was some rain (as we espected) so we decided the call it an easy day. We visited the Blavand Bolcher, a small candy factory/store where “children” can make there own lolypop. We also walked on the beach boulevard and bought Yoram a new kite. Later that day we went swimming in the Blavand Badeland (a big swimming hall).

Day 3 Tuesday
Today we went to the Ribe Vikinge center  (about an hour drive south from where we stayed). It’s a town build to show how the Danish people (vikings) lived over a 1000 years ago. Below are some pictures:

Day 3 Wednesday
Today we went to Henne strand for a lazy day on the beach. Yoram and Yair where having a great time and Yoram could finally play with his kite. We ended the day at a local restaurant and then went to our summer house again. Here are some pictures of the beach and GREAT weather!

Day 5 Thursday
We don’t know where Yoram got it from, but in Holland he already decided that he wanted to go fishing- because that’s what you do in Denmark! We haven’t been out fishing in Holland yet, so we had to buy a starter fishing rope and bought a two hour fishing pass for a lake in Vrogum Fiskeso (near our vacation home). Here are some pictures of Yoram fishing (he catched three small fishes in 2 hours time, more than most fishermans, who took of after a while looking not too happy :-))

Afther the fishing adventure the boys stayed at the vacation home (sleeping time and going to the playground in Jegum Ferieland). Rachel & Davida decided to do some necessary shopping in Esbjerg.

Day 6 Friday
Today it’s the last ‘normal’ day in Denmark, tomorrow we will have to pack and drive back to Holland :-( So we decided to take it easy and went to the Blavand Badeland (swimming) and later that day we went to the Jegum Ferieland playground. We rented some miniture-golf clubs. Yorams way of playing miniture golf is holding the club like a pool cue instead of, well… like you’re supposes to. Hahaha! Here are some pictures:

That was our summer vacation 2009 ! Too short to do & see everything in this part of Denmark! So, our next vacation will be in, you’ve guessed it; Denmark!

Insectenwereld Leens

July 22nd, 2009

Today (22-07) JM and Yoram went to the “Insecten Wereld” (insect world), in this small insect & reptile zoo you can see & touche the animals ! Here are some pictures:
