Playground and having ice-cream (again…)

Since it gets darker later in the evening as it used to, we decided to walk around the block with the kids after dinner. I took some pictures of them at the playground. Doesn’t it look like Yair’s hair is on fire in that last picture?!

Yesterday the sun came out and it was warm, while inside the house or car. Outside it was still cold and windy. We went to a small shoppingmall and Yoram wanted ice-cream. It was Yair’s first one ever, so he had to get a little used to it being sooo cold…

And here’s 2 of Yair with legs that go on forever and all dressed up to go out :-)

The Fair and Mc. Donalds

Easter Monday we went to a small fair across from my mom’s place. Yoram was very excited and wanted to go on the merry-go-round and win a stuffed animal. Well, we prepared him at home, that it wasn’t easy to win something, but we’d do our best. Obviously we spent way too much money, but hey, the boy was happy!
Afterwards we went to Mc. Donalds. My mom wanted to go out for dinner, but I thought it would be more relaxed to get some fast food and we’d be sure the boys eat their whole ‘plate’. :-)
The last picture is of Yair, who’s happy just playing with an empty box (and having something to eat! LOL)

Easter 2010

Since we’ve had the coldest winter since 1996, we are waiting for some sunshine and were hoping to get some this Easter. The sun decided not to come out, but some raindrops did… :-(

After having breakfast at church and attending the service there, we went home not knowing what to do with our day. In the late afternoon we decided to go to Lauwersoog and have ice-cream there (the temperture outside didn’t allow it, it was freezing cold with the wind, so we sat inside).

Afterwards JM remembered we stil had a kite from Denmark in our trunk, so we got out of the car to go to a bird look-out and let the kite up.

Here are some pictures;

Newtronics opens its 1st Store!

This past month Newtronics celebrated its 10-year anniversary! What a great occasion to open its first store this month!
April 2nd was the big day; Newtronics opened the doors of its 1st store in the center of Zuidhorn. Together with JM’s brother Rudy, we are renting a store-unit and are sharing the space and costs. Mainly, the store functions as an office where we handle our administration and where customers can pick up their orders they made in our webshops. It’s not a store where people can come and look around, but we do sell some basic stuf like keyboards, printers, monitors etc.
The store will be open every weekday-afternoon (2x Rudy, 1x JM and 2x Rachel, who quit her job to help set up the store) and every Saturday. We are hoping for great success!!!

Before we could open the store, the store needed some fresh paint and a new floor. And we had great help from Yoram :-)

Funny story; We had pencils to hand out to people passing by to promote our store and found Yoram willing to help us do that. He stopped a bicyclist passing by, by holding his hand up and yell ‘stop, wanna pencil?!’ ‘What will that cost me?’, the man asked. ‘Just 1 euro!’, Yoram replied. Yoram yelled throught the glass door; ‘it worked, I got a euro!’. Guess he didn’t understand he had to give the pencils away for free… :-)

Look at those eyes!

This morning, after coming home from bringing Yoram to school, we kind of got a lot of snow on us. (Yes, it’s snowing again…) I was about to go inside when I thought it would be nice to take a picture of Yair in his stroller with snow all over him. And look at that 2nd picture – doesn’t he have beautiful eyes?! (Can you tell his proud mommy is talking?) :-)

Yoram turns 4!

Yesterday we celebrated Yoram’s 4th birthday. A milestone, since now he’s old enough to go to school. The past two weeks he has been ‘practicing’ half days at school and he seemed to like it. Tomorrow is his first full day at school and we hope he’ll do well.

Saying goodbye…

Since Yoram turns 4 this month, last Friday was the last day at his daycare-center. This week he starts school and he’s very excited about that. But before that, he had to say goodbye to his friends at ‘Bengelhuus’.
Funny; when Yoram realised that he’d never go to daycare together with Yair anymore he was very sad, saying that ‘now he’ll NEVER see Yair anymore’…

Let it snow…

Since December 17th 2009 we’ve been having a lot of snow. We had a very white Christmas, something that hasn’t happen since Christmas 1981! Needless to say, it was very special.
Here are some pictures of Yoram (and JM) playing in the snow.

A “new” car

Last week JM’s car broke down after 1.5 years of “service” and over 40.000km without maintenance. The old car dit a real good job (cheap!!). We now bought a Fiat Palio Weekend 1.6 16V (nov 1998). The car has only driven 140.000km in his live… So we hope to drive this car for a few years (and again as cheap possible :-) )

Yair is 1 year old!

On the 25th Yair celebrated his 1st birthday. Here are some pictures of his birthday at daycare.
He’s wondering why everybody’s singing for him and he has to wear a birthday-hat. By the looks of it, he doesn’t like the hat…

Opening presents at home.

On the 26th we had family over. Yoram helped his little brother blowing out one candle on the cake and opening presents.

Yair loved his birthday-cake. We thought it was hilarious how big his mouth opened up for another bite.

Playing outside (1st time on Yoram’s car). And after all the ‘partying’ it was time to relax on Sunday.
